About Us
The Bridge Group Practice is a forward-thinking, friendly GP practice serving a diverse patient list of 9,000 patients. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality, patient-centred care. We are looking for an experienced, visionary Lead Nurse to inspire our clinical team and drive excellence across our nursing services.
Our clinical team currently comprise of 4 GP Partners, 2 Advanced Nurse practitioners, 3 part time Practice Nurses (one due to retire), 1 Nurse Associate, and 2 HCA’s
The Role
As our Lead Practice Nurse, you will balance expert clinical delivery with inspirational leadership. You will manage our nursing team (including Practice Nurses, HCAs, and Phlebotomists) while working closely with GP Partners and management to shape primary care services.
Key Responsibilities
• Team Leadership: Manage staff rotas, conduct appraisals, and mentor nursing staff to foster professional growth.
• Clinical Excellence: Deliver expert care in chronic disease management (diabetes, respiratory care) and preventative health (immunisations, cytology).
• Governance & Compliance: Act as the lead for Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) and ensure continuous CQC readiness.
• Service Development: Lead clinical audits, update practice protocols, and implement innovative primary care initiatives.
What We Are Looking For
• Registration: Current, valid NMC Registered Nurse status.
• Experience: Substantial experience in a GP practice with prior supervisory or leadership responsibilities.
• Qualifications: Certified in cervical cytology, paediatric immunisations, and chronic disease management (Non-Medical Prescribing V300 is highly desirable but, not essential).
• Systems: Proficiency in primary care software, ideally SystmOne.
